Shearing Ledge Shredder for Recycling Plant
Areas of Application:
The shearing ledge shredder, type PUMA is used in recycling
operations for the production of valuable secondary raw materials.
The feed material should be available in pieces in order to be
metered into the machine. To the PUMA it does not make any difference
whether or not it is fed with rubber parts or plastic containers. It
likes used plastic film waste and packaging material, just as much as
scrap paper, cardboard container and carbon fiber waste. Anywhere
where roughest conditions exist and where reliability is required,
the PUMA is found in action.
Method of Operation:
The shearing ledge shredder type PUMA size reduces all cuttable
material to a particle size smaller than 10 mm or coarser when
required. Material is normally fed by means of a conveyor belt or
vibratory feeder across the entire width of the machine. Rotating
shearing elements work in combination with stationary shearing ledges
to size reduce the feed material.
In the lower part of the housing, a well dimensioned screen is
installed, which retains the cut material in the cutter chamber until
it is discharged through the screen holes. The material is then
discharged straight down and transported mechanically away from the
machine. The installation of an auxiliary exhaust system is
recommended in most cases.
Design:
This sturdy and compactly built machine is designed for the
special requirements of modern recycling operations. Excellent
accessibility to the cutting chamber by means of large front doors.
The upper machine housing is hydraulically opened. Rotor- and stator
knives are adjusted in fixtures outside the machine and can be
re-sharpened many times.
The screen frame is opened hydraulically and the screen is
reversible, for even usage of both sides. The massive flanged
bearings are centered in the housing and the safety devices are in
compliance with the current machine builders standards.
